The Ministry of Defense reported about the shelling of a school and a kindergarten near Kherson by the Armed Forces of Ukraine
According to the Russian military department, there are wounded and dead as a result of shelling
Several civilians died as a result of shelling by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (APU ) civilian infrastructure in the Kherson region, including a school building and a kindergarten, the Russian Defense Ministry said.
“Units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine fired on the liberated settlements of Kiselevka and Shirokaya Balka in the Kherson region. Ukrainian nationalists fired at purely civilian targets. A school and a kindergarten in the village of Kiselevka were subjected to artillery shelling, — the message says.
Also, according to the military department, artillery fire was fired at a cemetery on the outskirts of the village of Shirokaya Balka, where there were people. “As a result of shelling, there are injured and dead among civilians. Serious damage was caused to the buildings of the school, kindergarten and private houses. Due to the consequences of the shelling by the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the residents of these villages are partially deprived of electricity,»,— stressed in the Ministry of Defense.

Russia has been conducting a military operation in Ukraine since February 24. The Ministry of Defense previously reported that they did not strike at civilian infrastructure, at the same time, they accused the Ukrainian side of this many times.

On March 15, the ministry reported that the entire Kherson region was under the control of the Russian military. Kherson was occupied even earlier, on March 2. On April 9, a Russian flag was hoisted over the city administration building. President Vladimir Putin said earlier that no occupation of Ukrainian territories was planned.
On April 28, Kirill Stremousov, deputy head of the military-civilian administration of the Kherson region, said that from May 1, the region would move into the ruble zone. He clarified that a transitional period of up to four months is envisaged, during which time the ruble and hryvnia will circulate in the region. Stremousov also denied plans to hold a referendum in the region and create a people's republic.
