Rospotrebnadzor assessed the impact of “deltacron” on the situation with coronavirus

Coronavirus deltacron variant does not have a significant impact on the epidemiological situation in Moscow and St. Petersburg, where its carriers were found. This was reported in the press service of Rospotrebnadzor.

The report says that six confirmed cases of Deltacron infection have been found in the Russian Federation. Five of them were identified in St. Petersburg, one – in Moscow. At the same time, the “deltacron” refers to non-dominant lines of SARS-CoV-2 and does not have a significant impact on the epidemiological situation in these cities.

According to Rospotrebnadzor, the epidemiological situation in Moscow and St. Petersburg is similar to that in the country as a whole. Currently in Russia, there is an active spread of COVID-19 BA.4/BA.5 subvariants with a predominance of BA.5 in the strain composition, the department specified.

Earlier, an immunologist assessed the danger of a variant of the coronavirus omicron strain called «Pisces».
