The Loki finale debuted on Disney Plus today – and it blew Marvel fans’ minds. Remember when everyone thought Mephisto was the secret villain of WandaVision and so there was disappointment when he never showed? Well, Loki was gearing up for a similar situation, as folks were certain Kang the Conqueror was the actual big bad of the Tom Hiddleston show. But episode 6 only went and proved all those fan theories right by featuring Jonathan Majors as the time-travelling tyrant in his MCU debut!

The finale saw Loki and Sylvie enter the Citadel at the End of Time where they encountered He Who Remains (Majors), the real ruler of the TVA. He explained that he was once a 31st century scientist who discovered the existence of other universes and ultimately caused a multiversal war as his variants fought for dominance. He warned Sylvie that to kill him would allow one of his more militant variants to take over. But she did it anyway, establishing a new timeline where Kang is in charge of the TVA.

Kang’s a villain we’ve been waiting to see in the franchise for the longest time, and now that he’s here, fans are losing it.

Well, technically we just met the MCU version of Immortus. But, thanks to Sylvie’s actions, Kang is on his way.

I’m so happy that Marvel is so committed to Kang being their next major villain. We met his nice Immortus variant, now it’s time to meet the others… pic.twitter.com/1nzx540z1I

Whatever you want to call him, Majors was the MVP of the finale.

Majors is confirmed to serve as the main villain of February 2023’s Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, though you’d expect him to also factor into Loki season 2. Whether that will arrive before Ant-Man 3 or not, though, we don’t know. But what we do know is that Kang has arrived, and he’s here to stay.
