Zelensky: Kyiv is ready to miss the IAEA mission at the ZNPP
According to President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, Kyiv continues to maintain constant contact with the IAEA, and the authorities countries are ready to let the organization's mission to the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant pass.
“Our diplomats and Ukrainian nuclear scientists are in constant contact with the IAEA. Now they are working on sending the IAEA mission to the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant,” Zelensky explained in a video message.
The President of Ukraine claims that “Kyiv is ready to provide proper control”, and the mission can be sent in a short time.
Recall that in early June, the Russian side and the IAEA Secretariat agreed on the route and schedule of the international agency missions at nuclear power plants. The mission included experts from different countries. However, this trip was canceled at the last moment, this decision was made in the Security Department of the UN Secretariat. On August 11, UN Secretary-General António Guterres called for the demilitarization of the station.
