Fuel and lubricants caught fire in the Berdyansk seaport. Vladimir Rogov, a representative of the military-civilian administration (MAC) of the Zaporozhye region operating in the territory controlled by the Russian military, said this in his Telegram.
“Today, fuel and lubricants (motor oils) that were in barrels on one of the piers. The fire was extinguished by prompt actions of the employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations and workers of the port, — he wrote.
No one was injured as a result of the fire. According to specialists working on the spot, the cause of the fire was a violation of safety rules during welding.
At the end of June, an explosion occurred in the port of Berdyansk. The CAA linked the explosion to demining. Alexey Selivanov, deputy head of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Zaporozhye, explained that the explosives experts found ammunition, which they decided to eliminate on the spot.
Berdyansk has been under the control of the Russian military since the end of February. A new administration was formed there, Alexander Saulenko was appointed acting mayor.
