Former FSB lieutenant colonel sentenced to 13 years in prison for treason

The Second Western District Military Court sentenced a reserve FSB lieutenant colonel to 13 years in a strict regime colony for treason (Article 275 of the Criminal Code) , RBC was told in the press service of the court.
The convict was fined 300 thousand rubles, he was deprived of his military rank.
As reported by RIA Novosti, in court, defendant— Dmitry Kazakov. During the meeting, it was established that he worked for foreign intelligence. The case was heard behind closed doors, so no other details were given to the agency.
Source of “Interfax” said that Kazakov began to cooperate with the intelligence of an unnamed state on his own initiative and passed on official information constituting a state secret. According to the interlocutor of the agency, the defendant pleaded guilty in full, but refused to testify on the circumstances of the case.
TASS, citing the press service of the court, reports that the verdict was announced on April 28.
